Functieomschrijving

We are looking for you as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician B1/B2 at Transavia Netherlands!

What will you do

As an Aircraft Maintenance Technician B1/B2, you play a crucial role in keeping our fleet in optimal condition. Between flights, you'll perform essential safety inspections to ensure each aircraft is flight-ready. In the hangar, you'll work on technical challenges—one moment you're replacing an engine, the next you're maintaining critical aircraft systems. No two days are the same, making this role dynamic and rewarding. You also have no problem working alternating weekends, evenings, and daytime shifts. Start your journey at Transavia and take on the challenge as a ground engineer in a dynamic organization where job satisfaction, responsibility, and growth are key.

What you get

  • Competitive salary of up to €5,479 gross per month (based on a 40-hour workweek);

  • Rotating shift bonus: Approx. €834 gross per month, depending on your schedule;

  • Type rating bonus: €107 gross per month for holding both 737 and Airbus qualifications (while both are operational);

  • Holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.33%;

  • Retention allowance of 8.5% on the gross base monthly salary, in accordance with the collective labor agreement (CAO);

  • A one-year contract to start, with the prospect of a permanent contract;

  • A personal budget of €700 to invest in your well-being, for example, for your gym membership, bicycle, or home office equipment;

  • 27 vacation days.

We also offer you:

  • Plenty of opportunities for personal development. Through our own Learning Hub, you and your colleagues can follow (online) training courses to support your growth;

  • (Team) coaching;

  • The possibility to follow Dutch language training;

  • A workplace in our Hangar at Schiphol East;

  • The opportunity to join ‘Young Transavia’;

  • Last but not least: with our IPB scheme, you can fly at attractive rates (subject to seat availability)!

Highlights of your job

  • Work on the latest aircraft model: the Airbus A321neo. Our fleet of around 50 aircraft will be modernized in the coming years with these state-of-the-art and sustainable planes. By next year, more than half of Transavia’s fleet at Schiphol will already consist of Airbuses;

  • Maximum variety: you’ll maintain the entire aircraft, from nose to tail. You’ll work both in the hangar and on the line, right in the middle of operations, surrounded by boarding and disembarking passengers;

  • Focus on your growth and development as a ground engineer;

  • Opportunities to travel to some of our beautiful destinations. If an aircraft needs maintenance in Barcelona or Reykjavik, you might be the one chosen to fix the technical issue!

Where will you land?

You’ll join the Fleet & Technical Services (F&TS) department, based in our hangar at Schiphol East. This department is responsible for ensuring our aircraft are technically ready for operation. F&TS includes Aircraft Maintenance, Materials Management, Engineering, Planning & Control, and supporting teams such as Maintenance Control, Project Management, and F&TS Support.

What your colleagues say

"We have a fantastic team of over 180 technicians, with a great mix of experience levels. The teamwork and camaraderie make this job truly special. You'll form strong bonds with your colleagues while working on important and exciting tasks." – Jelmer, Certifying Technician.

What do you bring with?

Together with your team, you ensure that our aircraft take off safely. It's a responsible job, and you feel that responsibility. You work precisely, take safety procedures seriously, and stay alert to everything happening around you. Additionally, you can work well independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues.

As an B1/B2 Aircraft Maintenance Technician you bring:

  • Mbo 4 vocational diploma in Aviation Maintenance (or equivalent);

  • Part 66 AML B1 or B1-B2 license;

  • Hands-on experience with 737 and/or A320-A321 (other valid types? We’ll provide training!);

  • Demonstrable practical experience, supported by a logbook;

  • Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English.
