Data Science Duaal Student @ Transavia Strategy, Data & Intelligence (SDI):

We zijn op zoek naar een Data Science Duaal Student om het Strategy, Data & Intelligence (SDI) team bij Transavia vanaf september 2023 te versterken. Als Data Science Duaal Student krijg je de kans om bij te dragen aan onze data & analytics oplossingen in samenwerking met het multidisciplinaire SDI team.

Dit centrale team leidt de ontwikkeling van de strategie van Transavia adviseert afdelingen aan de hand van informatie en inzichten, ondersteunt de transformatie naar het data-gedreven werken en bouwt aan data- en AI-oplossingen voor klanten en medewerkers van Transavia. Je werkt nauw samen met de rest van het team (bestaande uit Analytics Translators, Consultants, Data Analysts, Data Scientists en Data Engineers) en verschillende business stakeholders. Ook wordt je onderdeel van de Data Scientist chapter om samen met de mede (Lead) Data Scientists kennis op te doen van nieuwe technologieën en best practices.

Dit is wat onze Data Scientists Doen:

• Andere afdelingen binnen Transavia inspireren in het gebruik van advanced analytics en samen met hen onderzoeken hoe we met het slim gebruik van data hun processen verder kunnen verbeteren en problemen kunnen oplossen;
• Ontwikkelen, implementeren en onderhouden van huidige en nieuwe machine learning tools;
• Bijdragen aan de identificatie en implementatie van best practices in data science;
• Werken voor onze projecten in Azure Cloud en we maken gebruik van diensten als Azure Data Factory, Airflow, Databricks, Azure ML;
• Werken in een Agile/Scrum-omgeving, volgens het Spotify-model, als onderdeel van een squad binnen het Strategy, Data & Intelligence (SDI)-team.

Nog concreter:

Samen met jouw hulp willen we specifieke tools verbeteren en updaten, bijvoorbeeld door te werken aan een of meer van de volgende onderwerpen:

• Online recommenders verbeteren;
• Tijdreeksvoorspellingen van omzet en service aanvragen;
• Voorspellingen van verkopen aan boord;
• Bijdragen aan een Feature Store om efficiënt Machine Learning te ondersteunen;
• Processen of business uitdagingen omzetten naar Operational Research problemen.

Stage gegevens:

• Duur: 18 maanden duaal stage, vanaf september 2023;
• Stagevergoeding tot € 1.000,- bruto;
• Werkrooster: ten minste 20 uur per week;
• Werkomgeving: hybride werkmodel, kantoorwerk op onze locatie Schiphol-Oost gecombineerd met werken op afstand;
• Je wordt ondersteund door een Data Scientist binnen het SDI-team;
• Real Data: krijg (gecontroleerde) toegang tot authentieke data uit de luchtvaartindustrie;

Kwalificaties:

• Momenteel bezig met een bachelor- of masterdiploma in een gerelateerd vakgebied (bijvoorbeeld data science, kunstmatige intelligentie, business analytics of een vergelijkbare discipline);
• Kennis van data science-concepten en -technologieën;
• Basis kennis van Python;
• Sterk analytisch en probleemoplossend vermogen;
• Zelfstandig kunnen werken en samenwerken in een team;
• Woonachtig in Nederland;
• Goede communicatieve vaardigheden en beheersing van de Engelse taal.

Data Science Intership (dual)

We are looking for a Data Science Dual Student to join our Strategy, Data & Intelligence (SDI) team at Transavia, starting September 2023. As a Data Science Dual Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our data and analytics solutions in close cooperation with the multidisciplinary SDI. 

This central team leads the development of Transavia's strategy, advises departments based on information and insights, supports the transformation to data-driven working and builds data and AI solutions for Transavia customers and employees. You work closely with the rest of the team (consisting of Analytics Translators, Consultants, Data Analysts, Data Scientists and Data Engineers) and business stakeholders. You will also be part of the Data Science chapter, to gain knowledge of new technologies and best practices together with fellow (Lead) data scientists.

This is what our Data Scientists do:

• Inspire other departments within Transavia in the use of advanced analytics, and explore with them how we can further improve and solve their problems with the smart use of data;
• Develop, implement and maintain current and new machine learning tools;
• Contribute to the identification and implementation of best practices in data science;
• Run our projects in Azure Cloud and we use services like Azure Data Factory, Airflow, Databricks, Azure ML;
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, following the Spotify model, as part of a dedicated squad within the Strategy, Data & Intelligence (SDI) team.

More concretely:

Together with your help, we would like to improve and update specific tools, for example working on one or more of the following topics:

• Improve online recommenders;
• Time series predictions for revenue and service calls;
• Predictions for inflight sales;
• Contributing to a Feature Store to support efficient Machine Learning;
• Formulating processes or business problems as Operational Research problems;

Internship Details:

• Duration: 18-months dual internship, beginning in September 2023;
• Internship allowance up to €1000 gross;
• Work Schedule: at least 20 hours per week;
• Work Environment: hybrid working model, combining office-based work at our Schiphol-Oost location and remote work;
• You will be supported by a Data scientist within the SDI team;

Qualifications:

• Basic exposure to python;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team;
• You live in the Netherlands;
• Good communication skills and proficiency in English.
